EVOLVING BLOG

Good Morning - Wanted to share that I understand that reading this blog previously may have been difficult. The background was too dark.

I'm focusing on getting the needs met. There was a need to create a blog that contains not only informative bits of thoughts and information, yet that it be readable. Hmmm, is that a word?

And, the interesting part to me, is that it was easy to create this one. Will it change? Likely, because it is easy and, perhaps makes it more interesting. Do you like the changes, or would you rather see me create a format and leave it?

I did like the beach format for summer, though. Please weigh in, and let me know. What the readers think is important to me.

Hey - squeeze the joy out of every minute - and begin, by having fun trying.

PEDOMETER - MIGHT GET YOU MOVING

Currently I am involved with a large group to improve fitness, health and healthy living practices. Included with the program is a pedometer. I am a healthy eater, yet in the winter, I find that I'm not quite as active as in the warmer months in this chilly Northeast region.

Since I attached the pedometer to my belt on Monday, my activity level has increased without my paying attention. I find that interesting. One thing I am doing is monitoring the number throughout the day. Then, without concentrated focus, I seem to be moving more. Monday began with about 1998 steps, Tuesday with 3925 and today at 1:09 p.m. 4243.

This is fun, as I know that increased steps indicates more activity. With more activity there will be increased muscle and or weight loss or maintenance. With very little thought. In fact last night, I took off my jeans and off flew the pedometer to remind me of my intention. I put it near my glasses so in the morning the process starts again.

What suggestions do you have to get moving?
Have fun squeezing the joy out of each minute!
Cheers!

WOMEN'S RADIO STATION

http://www.womensradio.com/

Please let me know what you think. This is a new one to me. I'm continuing to extend my attention out into the world of internet radio. There are interesting programs, opportunities and lots of information.

Again, this is the place where Tidbits are found. Lengthy verbiage will be few and far between.

If your computer is centrally located, you can listen to talk radio, music, and just about anything on the internet. What is your favorite site for good, healthy entertainment? Comments can be annoymous - darn - would love to know where you are from, yet if you want to remain invisible, that is your choice.

DO YOU RECOGNIZE AN OPEN DOOR WHEN IT APPEARS?

“When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.” Helen Keller

Good Morning --

Are you still looking at closed doors? Are you looking at walls without windows, hanging onto something that has served it's purpose. It's time to give it the boot and move on.

One way to move on, is to look at something through another perspective. Ask someone else what they think, it might be interesting. And, remember, just because you asked, it does not mean you need to take the suggestion.

Another way is to check in with why the closed door is still visible, and has a tether attached to you. What is that tether made of? It may take an evening or a weekend. Give your "stuff" to the universe, to spirit or to God. Ask them to take it over for you. Want to know how -- just ask. That is what I am here for, to help, I am convinced of that.

Don't want to leave a comment that is visible? Send me an email, and I will respond.

It is time to close the door, and walk towards one that is open.

DISCONTENT?

"Discontent is the first necessity of progress." - Thomas Alva Edison

What is the area of your discontent? Are there more than one? What speaks the loudest?

Shoving it downward, or ignoring it, will not make it go away. It just might get louder, or grow ugly.

Are you hanging onto things too tightly, or people, or jobs too long?

What does this quote say to you? I have some ideas, and will blog about those next time. Yet today, is very much -A Tidbit like. A thought, and I'm leaving it up to the readers to, perhaps if they choose, to post a thought or two on this subject.

Let me know what you are thinking, as I'm listening -- to each of you. Thank you for previously commenting on the blog. If you have not yet, please do comment - it seems to be painless.

Hey - have fun squeezing the joy out of every minute!

YOUR THOUGHTS

"All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve are a direct result of his own thoughts." James Allen

First, except for the words "All" and "man," I like this quote. There is a previous blog discussing words, which you may want to check out. I typically don't use the words all, never and always. I would like to see this quote read -- "What a person achieves and what they fail to achieve are a direct result of their own thoughts." This will reference both men and women.

OK - yet, I like this quote because it is "basically" true. When my own thoughts are prevalent, and negative, I typically know I'm in "trouble." The day could go south fairly quick. That is when I take the initiative to either write them down, check in to see if there is another possibility, check in with the feeling and the emotion, etc. There is a process that I use, which I will share in a later post, or on request.

I have been thinking of a project, and today I did an internet search to get information to get me started. So many possibilities appeared, and I was quickly overwhelmed. Rather than quit, as my mind quickly said, I posted a request for help on an email group that I belong to. I have chosen to wait and use the filter offered with the group. To get ideas and thoughts before I proceed. I have placed the project on my visible to-do list, and each day I will take a step toward accomplishing it.

I will keep my thoughts in a productive, positive, light place as I move through this project. Also, I have created a space to record productive steps. This will provide a visible acknowledgement of the steps that have been taken, and what steps are needed to achieve the desired result. Also, I have added a timeline for the project to be accomplished.

You will know when this project is finished, as it will appear on this blog. There is a learning curve, and I will announce the anticipated arrival by the end of March. Stay tuned, and great job with comments. I'm enjoying and responding, please keep it up!

HAVING A ROUGH DAY?

"The gem cannot be polished without friction." - Chinese proverb

I asked for comments and thoughts, and you generously provided them. You like quotes.

This quote caught my eye, as for me, it can be used every day. There typically is something in my every day that I can identify as having a rough edge or an aspect that could use some polishing. Whether it is a joke, to be more effective, needs timing practice, or simply eating a better breakfast, or responding to a question.

Yet, this quote does not suggest that without friction progress cannot happen. Attention to this quote will create a process for notice. Change cannot take place without notice.

If life is close to being simply perfect, then lets simply pay attention to the friction points. What could be done differently? What did I learn? What was my role in that friction? Next time - or perhaps, the lesson will be to take steps so next time does not occur.

I'm playing with this one. If you decide to play too, please consider posting what comes up for you so we can all learn.

Hey - have fun as you continue to squeeze the joy out of every minute!

QUOTES

I like quotes most days, as I think they can have wisdom. Here is one that caught my eye today:

by Anatole France

"To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but we also dream, not only plan, but also believe."

To accomplish your "thing" great or otherwise which of those sections requires your true attention -- act, dream, plan or believe?

To be the best you can be will be great. That is what God, I think wants us to be. We can be successful if we try, yet if we don't try, success is not even possible.

Have a great day - this Valentine's Day of 2008. What do you love today? Some people consider this a romantic day, and yes it can be. Yet - most anything can be what you believe. I believe the day is meant to be kind, be sweet, be thoughtful, be nice, be good, to laugh and enjoy.

If connected with someone - enjoy. If not, not reason not to enjoy. How about a day of EXTREME self care. It will make you feel better beyond today.

Enjoy --
Namaste

VALENTINE'S DAY

Ahh, the annual day of hearts for 2008 is fast approaching. Happy Valentine's Day to each of you.

A Valentine present to me could be - share the reason you stopped by. Referred, that would be cool. It could spawn a blog post, or not.

Everyone knows the concept and Hallmark purpose for Valentine's Day. It has become another marketing field day. Spend money here - no, spend money here - no, spend money here. If the day is truly a Hallmark day, then go ahead then move forward and read no further.

Yet, if Valentine's Day is to be special, truly special, there are a myriad of things you can do, and I suggest you continue or begin to create a heartfelt tradition of your own. It could start with a note under a pillow - or the smell of coffee or breakfast in bed. Then, don't stop there - call during the day, or send flowers (favorites are recommended), girl to guy is cool, or so I have heard. If your Valentine is the active type - schedule something that moves - indoor bumper cars, or ice skating. If she/he would like to relax - pour a nice steamy bath with yummy scented oil - and lay out a new fluffy towel. Then, then then, or........

I will stop here as it truly is about you. And, if you are alone --- what better person to treat is yourself. All of the above can be done - get up a bit early, make breakfast and climb back into bed - grab a friend and do something fun, relax in a warm tub and lay out a new fluffy towel. Then, then -- it is all about you.

If you are a man - do what you enjoy for yourself. Get a manicure, polish your shoes - play your guitar, and do stuff that men enjoy.

If you are a woman, men seem to love a woman who knows what she likes, and don't keep him guessing. Let him know how to pleasure you - he will enjoy it and so will you.

Ladies - men like to be pampered too.

Happy Valentine's day to everyone you love!

P.S. I wanted to use red letters or hot pink, yet they wouldn't show up - I may have to change one or two of these blog posts so can do something different as I move forward. Thanks for your patience and returning. I truly do it for you.

NEW - YET OLDER POST

I just posted an older post as it was drafted weeks ago, yet just published it - check it out if you have recently left a relationship "Place Blame or What Have I Missed." There is much to appreciate and look forward to. I know for a fact.

http://www.coachingcommons.org/news/will-nintendo-ds-game-my-life-coach-replace-you/

A new video coaching game is coming which appears to act as a coach. Interesting. If anyone gets this I would be interested in hearing about it. You can read more about it through the link above.

Also, if you are simply curious about coaching and what is happening, what is all the "hype," or is it "real," check out this site and make your own determination. After all, I truly believe in information rather than belief.

I also believe in visibility and sharing, not holding tightly.

Have fun today - and, squeeze each minute for the best in it.

EVOLVING

This blog is continuing to evolve, and the plan is soon(not sure when) there will be an audio posting on this blog. You will be able to hear my voice. So, please stay tuned.

I had an interesting work experience I thought I would share. A manager in a recent job excused people who were rude and "bitchy" as simply being that way. The job necessitated customer service in a large way, yet it was ok for these people to be "bitchy" because that is just the way it is.

I left that job. It made them happy when I left, more important, to me, I left happy. Holding on is not always a good thing. I now have some uncertainties, yet spending 8.5 hours in an untenable situation is not one of them. I now have the time to look for a much better fit. Time is valuable. In that job, I was wasting it.

Peace

WINTER Doledrums??????

The longest part of winter in the East is beginning. Suggestion: pick yourself up, and

go bowling!

Fly a winter kite - some winter days the air seems so fresh, you can almost smell the crispness. Oh, you might need gloves.

Ever tried snowshoes? Make a snowman or an snow angel.

Join or begin a book club. Spend time at the library, check out the movies.

Take a faux paint course - paint one wall for accent.

Take a knitting course - dance lessons, give or take

Take a walk - careful don't slip.

Sledding party - no snow - dress warm and roll down the hill.

Create a card or game party. Everyone brings a game. Or, simply dust off Pictionary.

Gather windup toys - create a racetrack on heavy paper, and wind up the toys- prizes for the winners.

Put pillows under your kids shirts and begin the belly bumper game. Hands must be kept behind the back.

How about posting suggestions to share for others?

Have fun, laugh a lot - it is so good for your soul and for all the people around you!

"It is not falling into the water,......"

"It is not falling into the water, but lying in it, that drowns." - Anonymous

As 2008 moves along, not everyone needs to make a change. That is very true.

Yet, even people living in abundance, have challenges. Did you know that Keith Ledger lived in a $26,000 a month apartment. His bed was a mattress on the floor, and I understand there was little else in the apartment -- not much of him there. There was an interview in November where he stated - that he was happier when he had less.

If something is not working, and it continues and continues. All of a sudden something else does not work, and it continues and continues.

The big stuff typically gets taken care, it is the little stuff that erodes while your not looking.

Suggestion: Each month begin with an environment inventory. Take a few moments, unclutter, checkin with finances, relationships, wardrobe, entertainment, family, spiritual, security, and whatever environments create the balanced circle for YOU.

WANT TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS?

There is a wonderfully safe and fun site to check out. First, it is NOT a dating service. This is an idea that has been around for longer than I knew. Yet, things come into your life when you need them most "they" say.

Meetup.com is an interest group site where people become creaters and organizers. I understand there is a slight fee for being the organizer, and some activities involve fees, and others simply the cost of the entertainment. For example, do you like tennis, movies, books, politics, hiking, biking, people, exercise, or bowling? Or, you can offer your own group.

Recently I went to an ice rink to experience broom ball and ice bumper cars with a group of people I continue to get to know.

If you do, please share your experience - that is, from my perspective, the best way to help others.
