CAN BLACK & WHITE CHANGE TO GREY?

What are the reader's thoughts on this subject...?

Need to be Right -- Many people need to have the last word on a subject - I know a person like that, yet he softened with age; he is now 33. A very, very bright person who had little patience sometimes with someone who did not "get" it right away. My experience is that maturity can help.

Yet many people who lack support and validation while growing up, MIGHT have a need to be heard and/or accepted. There are SO many factors that can contribute to believers of black & or white, that this blog would lose its name, A Tidbit.

Yet my question is -- What can someone do when communicating with someone who needs to be Right?

Suggestion:

Key #1: Listen, or not, yet respond do not react.

Key #2: Do not respond OR react. Many times nothing needs to be said.

Key #3: Ask a basic question -- Is this from belief or knowledge?

Key #4: Try - this can be challenging - to not be attached to an answer or response.

Remember, you are speaking to another person who has a need to be Right -- the idea is that you don't. Stay calm, relaxed and open to whatever happens.

Have fun with this -- any ideas from readers of this blog? Please share, as this topic is generating some buzz, based on the amount of comments so far. Oh, it is not into double or triple digits, yet each visitor is appreciated here.

Hey - squeeze the joy!
