Letters to a Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke

Letters to a Young Poet

by Rainer Maria Rilke

Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to
love the questions themselves, as if they were locked rooms, or books
written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers,
which could not be given to you now, because you would not be
able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the
questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually,
without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.

Here is something to chew on.... Also, give the question up to God, as you get up, have a cup of coffee and move into your day.

Good morning Susan---Avery of MA---Wow this post just hit home and resonated.

Also been doing your suggestion on creating a story with my 6 yr old daughter as we lost my wife and her mother about 3 wks ago due to a hit and run accident.

As you can imagine all different kinds of questions have gone through my head.

Creating stories have been helping my daughter to laugh instead of crying every minute. As for me I have to be the strong one for my daughters sake.

Your words have been very powerful and we love the picture your photographer continues doing exceptional work.

Thank you for this site a place to come to relax and it's a piece of heaven as you are God's messenger.

I have been a loyal reader now for about a year.

Hi Susan--Mary of East Rochester, NY--just reading your post and chills are just running down my spine. As this is just what I needed as I have just read all the most recent post as I have been a bit behind on your post due to I'm going through losing my father due to just being old and he had just turned 100 yrs old about a week ago and he died the day after his birthday.

My father lived a wonderful life and I am a true believer in God and I know he is in heaven. My family and I will miss him dearly as he was the type of person that helped everybody out because he so enjoy being around people and they all love him as he would tell his stories to everyone he would see.

We loved his stories as he had seen the world like no one else had.

At the same time I have been going through some challenging times with my husband and when I introduced him to your site just within the last few days we sat down one night and read your new post and your olders ones and it felt so nice to feel some connection again. Communication has gone by the way side for awhile now. Looking to getting it back on track.

Look forward to hearing more about relationships also.

Hi Susan-- Wendy of Toronto Canada--First let me say that I love your writings as a few friends of mine are gathered together at lunch as I am in a nursing program and reading your post have been so inspiring and after reading some of the comments along with your writing has given me a diffent outlook on life.

Since there are nights that I have to work until the next morning through out the night myself and Jenny and Mindy work on the same floor to make the time go by we have started creating stories everytime we pass each other in the hall.

It has become exciting as we make it a point to make rounds often so we can continue the story and with in a few hours were able to complete one story.

Have fun with it as it does passes the time by.

We have cheered up some of our patients also by creating a story with them and it is nice to be able to bring a smile and a laugh to there face.

I have been a reader of yours now for about 2 months now.

Great job to your writing and we love your photographer picture.

Hi Susan--Emma of Rochester, NY--Coming to your site is my peaceful time that I take for me and my husband and I are very heartbroken that our 7 yr old son was killed while he was playing in the snow.

A snow plow was coming down our street way too fast and the plow lost control and had come up into our yard where my son was playing and my son could not get out of the way quick enough and the plow had taken his life away.

I was in the window watching him play and everything happened so quickly to try to do something.

Thank you so much for your loving and warm words.

My husband and I believe in God yet it is heart wrenching that our son is gone and he had a whole life ahead of him. He was our pride and joy and we miss him something terrible.

Your post have helped yet we are at a lost how to continue on.

Any thoughts or words that may help our healing process.

Thank you for listening and having this site to come to. It is nice to know that someone is listening
