TAKING CARE OF ONESELF

Since Christmas, there have been a few posts from me; however, the last 2 months have been a bit challenging in that I've had a need to simply, take care of myself.

An upper respiratory infection, and now oral surgery. The mouth is swollen like a chipmunk, on one side; yet, my biggest challenge right now, is what to eat. Only soft foods, and very small bites are my friends.

Any suggestions, except for getting the blender out and mixing up strange ingredients that are not ordinarily mushy - I'm very open to suggestions. Yesterday was small ravioli, cut into very, very small pieces, and a pint of ice cream.

Sometimes, it is necessary to simply sit back - take it easy, and allow the most powerful computer in the world - the body, to do what it does best. Heal!!!!!

Here is a thought with relationships, though, not to let an opportunity pass. My good friend is picking up from the store what "I" need to feel better. She is not getting what she needs and wants and believing that is what "I" need.

If you need hugs, and he needs action to be validated and feel loved, then give the other person what they need. And, then let him know specifically what you need.

Have a wonderful day - and please, don't hesitate to send soft food ideas if you have any. My mind keeps going to ice cream, yet I truly know I need nutrition for the body and the soul.

Hi Susan--Lisa of Rochester NY--Hope your oral surgery went well. Have you tried steamed carrots yet or smoothies. Those are a few ideas.

I think that is wonderful that you have a true friend like that putting your needs and wants first to help you feel better. You must feel very blessed to have such a great friend that cares a lot about you.

It's nice to see putting other peoples needs above there own to show that they love and care. It's pretty fantastic to have that type of friend now a days as true friends are hard to come by.

Hi! I hope you are feeling better - lots of good food advice here that will help I'm sure.

Another option is something like Ensure, or a new Kellogs breakfast beverage my wife just brought home for the first time - you can chill it, and it is very tastey.

Hopefully you'll be feeling much better in three or four days!

Take care,

Hi Susan--Beth of CA---Thanks so much for these post. You are so correct. If you need something or want just by asking does work so well.

My husband and I have been though a rough patch and we have been doing your suggestion on creating a story and it is so nice to see that my husband go into creating one. I also asked for a hug which I have not asked in awhile since there has been so much distance.

For the first time in about 4 months he gave me a hug and he asked for us to go and talk to someone to get us back on track with one another.

You are a huge part of this Susan just being out on this site. Your words have been very inspiring and so useful. Thank you for being a part of bringing my husband and I back together.

Hi Susan- Maryann of IN---Hope your feeling better. Perhaps this will cheer you up. My husband and I have been trying the suggestions you keep providing.

We have been creating stories and we have been asking for what we want. Through the many suggestions that we have been doing this has brought my husband and I even closer together as there has been a bit of a distance for a bit now.

My husband realized how important our marriage is and he asked me last night for us to renew our vows in front of all our family and friends as he is still so much in love with me and we are going to continue with what you have provided as my husband has been reading your post it has made him realize that our marriage is still very important and we are going to continue creating that bond again that has been pushed to the back for awhile and now making a fast approach back to the front.

We love your writings and you are such an angel from God. Also love your photographers picture where was that taken looks likes a nice place.

Again thanks so much for being a part of building our marriage back together.

Hi Susan--Raymond of Hilton NY--You just have such a gentle way with your words.

I have been a follower of yours for about 2 yrs now. The creating a story has been so much fun and here's something that I believe will make you smile also hope your feeling better. Dental work is no fun.

My girlfriend and I were creating a story and as we were creating our story I had an engagement ring in my hand and got down on one knee and proposed to her and she said yes. So we created this story and turned it into real. We have been together for almost a year in a half now and my girlfriend thought that was the coolest thing and applying your suggestions to it made it that much more special. She was thrilled how creative I got as we read your past and present post daily.

So much great as you call it tidbits. We are a huge fan of your photographer so enjoy there work.

The wedding is going to be this October 6th as that is the same date that we first met.

We both want to thank you for providing such a comfortable and tranquil place to relax and unwind.

I also love the suggestion on how to take songs off the I-Pod I love adding new songs after listening to the other ones for awhile.

Thanks so much for bringing us together in marriage. We try any suggestion that you put out there and just know that they truly do work.

You are Gods work
