Overtime ---

It is good - it is not so good -- the money is good, and it leaves people out of balance. It leaves less time for the important people and things in life.

This is what is happening to me right now. It can happen in other areas also - anything that takes away from those we love, which includes ourselves.

It might be a job, it might be golf, or both. If you work 6 days a week and golf on Sunday........., for example.

Suggestion: Make a list of priorities - where is your relationship or your relationships on the list. Until something is visible, it will not be a focus, it cannot be adjusted, it will grow moss and perhaps, fade or walk away.

OT also is why I have not posted much lately. And, it will continue through this month. Thank you again for all who have shared comments - as your thoughts are very helpful to me and to others.

Hello Susan----Sandra of CT--thank you for this post as I have been working OT for the last several months as well as my husband. Feel badly we have not done much spending time with others as work has consumed all of our time.

My husband and I are not going to work ot this weekend as it is a long weekend we are going to enjoy it to the fullest as come Monday it's back to OT.

Also realize love making the list idea and also will make the time and bring relationship and relationships to the top of the list as that is important to focus on.

After your post my husband and i have decided to cut back on the ot and take time out to spend with friends as the whole summer has gotten away and our children have not been too happy that we have not done much this summer with them.

Money may be good now it's time to take a break from ot and not feel as rushed. Time to enjoy and that is the focus for this weekend and I like to suggest that to you also Susan enjoy the weekend to the fullest.

My husband and I love this picture and love that idea of a treadmill with a desk. look forward to reading and seeing more pictures outstanding job

Hey Girl Roy here----you hit the nail on the head. Need to be able to balance work and other activities. Girl this comes at the right time.

I have been working OT like it's going out of style these and when it starts to effect the way of life it's time to cut back on OT.

Thank you for this post as putting things back into perspective again. Spending time with friends and family this long weekend at our home having a picnic.

Girl you also enjoy and this is funny as I actually have the same set up in our house with a tread mill and desk love this as there are days i work from home and this is so nice to have who knew someone else enjoys it also.

Love the picture and your post keep it up and when is your next seminar keep us updated.

Have a Happy Labor Day

Susan--Besty of Henrietta NY---Your post comes at the right time and i need to make some changes that will benefit my self, the kids and my husband. OT is not everything friends and family are more important. Some ot is ok not to the point of getting swallowed up by it and coming home not satisfied.

Love the picture I like this concept i am going to look into getting one of them. God continues to bless us with your gift and your photographer is also very gifted.

Have a nice weekend

Good morning Susan----Nancy of ON Canada--You hit the nail on the head as I stopped and paused and recalculated. I have been working so much OT the last few months there has not been time for anything other than going to bed and getting up and doing it all over again.

It's draining on me and I do feel so out of balance not eatting healthy the way i normally do and eatting late in the evening then right to bed. Thank you so much for this post as it did cause me to pause and going to cut back on the ot as there has not been enough time spent with my husband or children or any of our friends.

First thing I will do tonight when i get home is take a nice hot bath and cook dinner as i will make it a point to get out of work tonight by 5pm instead of 8pm.

Been a follower of yours for over 4 yrs and you continue to bring us so much insight as you continue shineing through God.

Love that picture I have an office in our home and love the idea of the desk and the treadmill going to check it out and get one. Keep the pictures coming your photographer is remarkable.

Namaste

Hello Susan--Dean of Gates NY---I thank God everyday for providing you the right words to write about as you are a true gift from God.

My wife sat me down to read this as i have been working a lot of OT and it has caused some tention around the house. Ditto to the last comment where you caused me to pause and rethink about the way of life and how it has been effecting others around me that i love. I am going to cut back on the OT for awhile my family and friends are more important to me. Thank you Susan for this post.

I am a manager for a company and i love that desk with the treadmill that will be perfect for my office looking into getting one.
